I’ve been developing the “3C Xing Yi Quan” project since 2017. The ancient martial art form of Xing Yi (literally“form-intention”) captures animal behaviors andcharacteristics; and “3C Xing Yi Quan” is a new styleof internal-style martial art developed in symbiosi with learning in a digital environment through open-source collaboration with various invited individuals and communities. The term 3C here refers to computer, communication, and consumer electronics. Ourcognitive experiences and relationships with quotidiantechnological objects are transformed through physicalmovement and mindful comprehension.

This book will contain an excerpt from the development process of the “Refrigerator” stance and its postures, as wellas the kitchen chapter from the Mexican textbook La mujeren el hogar (The Woman at Home) that I freely translatedwith participants during an online workshop for the “PacificPirate#2 T.A.Z.” project. I happened upon the textbook La mujer en el hogar whileresearching Mexican materials on the subject of the kitchen. Written over a century ago by the feminist Dolores Correa Zapata, the book reveals the relationships in that era betweenwomen and the kitchen. I conducted an open reading of thework from a contemporary perspective with friends from Mexico and Taiwan online, and found inspiration for martialart stances.
